RTSP CAMERA FORKLIFT DETECTION
Connect your
existing cameras.
A compatible camera stream. Your local AI server.
Overview & setup notes
Use a compatible camera's RTSP stream as input to a local forklift detector. AICraft Ware runs on your edge server, with the camera supplying the video.
How the camera-to-server connection works
The camera provides a video stream over your local network. Your edge server connects to the manufacturer's RTSP address and processes sampled frames through the forklift model. Your local integration uses the detector API to inspect stream status, detection events and annotated previews.
RTSP describes the streaming connection; it does not guarantee that every camera, codec or network configuration is compatible. Validate the actual stream from the server before committing to a rollout. A camera does not need to run the detector internally when an external edge server performs inference.
What to prepare
- The camera manufacturer's RTSP stream address, path and permitted read credentials.
- A server capable of running the supplied CPU Docker image with Linux containers.
- A network route from that server to each camera, including the required firewall rules.
- Stable camera addresses or DNS names for commercial stream binding.
- Representative footage and a plan to check detection quality at your site.
Keep camera passwords and stream URLs private. Do not enter them in the website's camera-registration form or support chat. The registration form records manufacturer, model and serial number; stream credentials stay in your local camera map.
Connect a licensed camera
- Register the company and camera in your workspace and request an invoice.
- After payment confirmation and administrator licence activation, prepare the local camera map using the registered camera ID and RTSP address.
- Use a commercial activation code to bind the camera entitlement to the server identity and stream endpoint.
- Start the edge runtime, then call the source-start API with the registered camera ID as
source_id. - Inspect source status and detection events, and compare the output with your sample footage.
The commercial activation guide and camera connection examples contain the commands. Commercial camera licences cover inference through the licensed source API; arbitrary uploaded-image and video-file inference is not part of that entitlement.
Validate the view, not just the connection
A successful connection does not establish detection accuracy. Check camera height, forklift size in the frame, occlusion, image quality and lighting. Frame sampling controls how many frames are processed; it does not guarantee a processing rate. Server capacity depends on your hardware, camera count and stream settings.
AICraft Ware is not a certified safety system. Keep existing safety procedures and human supervision in place.
Common questions
Do I need to buy a new camera?
An existing camera may be usable if its stream is compatible and its view is suitable. Validate it before buying hardware.
Can I change a camera's password?
The commercial endpoint fingerprint excludes URL credentials. Host, port, stream path and query parameters remain bound, so choose a stable endpoint before activation.
Can I move a licence to another camera?
No. Each licence is non-transferable and remains assigned to its registered camera and company. Replacing the camera requires a separate licence.
Does endpoint binding verify the physical camera?
No. The stream fingerprint does not authenticate a physical serial number. Non-transferability is also a contractual requirement.
